Children And Young People Who Run Away training

This course will enable you to understand why young people run away from social care services and the difficulties they may face once they have left the Social Care Setting.

The definition of ‘runaway’ used by the Government in its Guidance (in line with the statutory safeguards of the 1989 Children Act) is that ‘young runaway’ and ‘missing’ refer to children and young people up to the age of 18, who have run away from home or a care placement, have been forced to leave or whose whereabouts are unknown”.
