Drug And Alcohol Awareness training

When embracing the social issue of alcohol and drug use, we need to be aware of the influence of our own thoughts and prejudices.

This is a big challenge for many of us whether we have personal and/ or professional experience of inappropriate drug and alcohol usage.

Young people can be influenced into trying legal and illegal substances and we need to have an open and non-discriminatory attitude in order to understand and support them with regard to their drug use.

This drug and alcohol awareness course will enable foster parents and those working in Children's Services to learn more about the impact that they can have on children and young people.

While there is a growing trend of teetotalism in the young (Guardian May 2017), binge drinking is more socially acceptable than ever before.

Our course challenges learners to develop a keener awareness of the factors influencing drug and alcohol use in the young.
