Mindfulness Holding Space

This programme provides a psychologically safe ‘holding space’ in which participants can learn new skills of resilience through mindfulness. Written by Elspeth Soutar and Sue Wright, the course has been developed in response to the increasing stress levels that many foster carers and children’s services teams are experiencing.

During the course, participants will acquire practical strategies to enhance their mental and physical well-being so they can better support the children and young people in their care. The programme consists of eight live webinars that focus on key areas including meditation techniques, breathwork, mindful movement, compassion training and emotional understanding.

Led by two qualified facilitators, the Mindful Holding Space programme is shaped around the need to be trauma-sensitive and recognises that no two participants’ journeys are the same.
