Working (Communicating) Together for Social Workers and Educators

This half-day, in-person workshop explores potential communication issues between educators and social care practitioners. Written and delivered by Jack Newton, the Working (Communicating) Together for Social Workers and Educators course aims to help both parties improve their understanding of the settings that support the children they are engaged with.

By the end of the session, social workers will have a better understanding of the school environment, while designated teachers, DSLs and the SLT will benefit from an in-depth insight into the social care domain. This greater understanding fosters professional empathy and respect, which in turn enables you to work together more effectively.

In addition, participants will learn more about local thresholds and escalation protocols. By tackling communication issues head-on, the workshop also aims to improve the quality of referrals, personal education plans (PEPs) and the dialogue between these groups of professionals.
