Residential Childcare Training

Residential childcare is group care for vulnerable children who live away from their families, temporarily or permanently. Abuse, neglect or challenging situations at home can be the reason for child placements in residential care settings.

The aim of residential care is to create a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people. They can receive the care and support they need to thrive emotionally, socially, and in their education. The ultimate aim is to help children and young people to transition successfully to independent living when appropriate.

We provide courses for people in social care who work with children and young people. It helps you understand vulnerable children’s development, learn skills to support children better and promote positive behaviour. The skills and knowledge gained from the course helps achieve and support positive outcomes for these looked after children.

Expert practitioners will deliver the residential childcare training. The training is specifically designed for those caring for children and young people in residential childcare. It support the mandatory Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
